Another exciting grand opening is on the horizon! Northwood Community Centre is getting a brand-new basketball court and playground. This $602,000 project, backed by all levels of government, promises to be a fantastic addition to the community. Construction kicks off soon and wraps up by June 2025. City Updates:

Youth Counselling Services Get a Boost!

As reported by the Winnipeg Sun, Manitoba is stepping up for our youth! The government announced $200,000 in funding for Huddle NorWest to hire more clinicians, reducing those pesky wait times for counselling services. This means 140 more young folks will get the help they need, right when they need it. With mental health demand spiking post-pandemic, this is a huge win for our community. Let’s celebrate this investment in our future and support our youth's well-being!

Manitoba Adjusts Student Aid Shelter Allowances

As reported by CTV News, great news for students! Manitoba is updating student aid shelter allowances to reflect current housing costs. Starting August 1, students will benefit from this change, making it easier to afford rent and focus on studies. This update aligns allowances with 2022 rental data, helping students manage expenses without sacrificing necessities. A big win for our future graduates!
