Remembrance Day Ceremonies Happening Across Manitoba

Every November 11, Winnipeg slows down for a moment of reflection. Families, friends, and neighbours gather across the city to honour those who served, and those who still serve today. It’s a day filled with gratitude, remembrance, and quiet connection that stretches across generations.

Across Manitoba, communities will come together in both large and small ceremonies to pay their respects and remember the sacrifices that made our peace possible.

Here’s where you can take part in a Remembrance Day service tomorrow:

  • RBC Convention Centre (Hall AB, Winnipeg) – Manitoba’s largest ceremony, with room for 4,000 people. A traditional gun salute will take place at 10:30 a.m. at the legislative building to honour the fallen. Doors open 9:30 a.m., service begins 10:40 a.m

  • Vimy Ridge Park (821 Preston Ave.) – The Royal Winnipeg Rifles ceremony runs 10:30–11:30 a.m. (LINK)

  • Minto Armoury (969 St. Matthews Ave.) – An outdoor service will be held in front of the armoury, 10:30–11:30 a.m., as the building remains closed for construction. (LINK)

  • ANAVETS Unit 283 Assiniboia (3584 Portage Ave.)Doors open 9:30 a.m., guests seated by 10:30 a.m., with post-service entertainment 12:45–6 p.m.

  • St. Norbert Cenotaph (847 Ste. Thérèse Ave.)10:45 a.m. ceremony, also livestreamed on YouTube. (LINK)

  • Legions Across Winnipeg & Manitoba: Local services at branches throughout the province. (LINK)

  • Stride Place (Portage la Prairie) – Royal Canadian Legion Branch #65 service starts 11 a.m., with seating at 10:30 a.m. (LINK)

  • Keystone Centre (Brandon) – Service at the Assiniboine Credit Union Place; doors open 10 a.m., anthem at 10:40 a.m., silence at 11 a.m. (LINK)

From Portage Avenue to Brandon, from busy halls to quiet cenotaphs, every poppy worn and every moment of silence carries meaning. However you choose to honour the day, may it remind us of the courage, sacrifice, and peace we’re so fortunate to share because of them.

What’s Open and Closed in Winnipeg on Remembrance Day

Together with DECO Windshield Repair

Get Your Windshield Fixed Before Winter Hits

It’s nearly halfway through November. The air’s getting colder, mornings are darker, and somehow, it still hasn’t fully snowed!

But we both know how this goes. One day it’s chilly, and the next, there’s frost on your windshield, and that tiny chip you ignored has turned into a crack the size of Portage Avenue.

If you’ve been putting it off, now’s the time to get it done. DECO Windshield Repair has two full glass shops in Winnipeg, offering the same fast, friendly service they’re known for at their orange tents, along with full windshield replacements, covered by MPI!

When you book, you’ll get:

  • Unlimited chip and crack repairs for a full year

  • Brand new wiper blades with free installation

  • A top-up of washer fluid (because you’ll need it soon)

Think of it as a small win before winter shows up. A clear windshield means better visibility, fewer headaches, and zero stress when that first icy morning hits.

But it’s not just about convenience, it’s about safety too. Cracked windshields are more likely to spread in cold weather, which can affect visibility and even the strength of your vehicle in a collision. Fixing it now isn’t just smart, it’s safer for you and everyone on the road.

So before the cold finds you, get it fixed, stay safe, and make winter one less thing to worry about.

📍 Unit 60, 70 Park East Dr, Winnipeg

Winnipeg’s K-9 Unit Launches 2026 Calendar to Support Retired Dogs

Every day, Winnipeg’s police dogs serve with loyalty and courage: chasing leads, finding missing people, and protecting the officers who protect us.

After years of service, many of these dogs retire with health issues that need lifelong care. And that’s where the WPS Canine Fund comes in.

The fund provides vital support for both active and retired service dogs, helping them live healthy, comfortable lives after service.

Here’s what it provides:

  • Protective vests – Each ballistic vest for active K9s costs around $5,000 and helps keep them safe on duty.

  • Veterinary care and medication – Covers ongoing medical needs for retired dogs who’ve developed health issues from years of work.

You can support the fund by picking up the 2026 K9 Unit Calendar for just $20, with every dollar going directly to the care of these incredible dogs.

It’s a simple way to give back to the four-legged heroes who’ve spent their lives keeping Winnipeg safe.
