Paul Maurice’s Heartfelt Wish for Winnipeg

Paul Maurice is soaking up the Florida sun with the Stanley Cup in hand, but his heart still beats for Winnipeg. Right after his Florida Panthers clinched the championship, he told Sportsnet's Kyle Bukauskas, “If I could have one thing more, it'd be for the Winnipeg Jets to win the next Stanley Cup.”

The Panthers’ journey to victory was a rollercoaster, with a dramatic Game 7 win over the Edmonton Oilers. Maurice, who led the Jets to their best playoff run in 2017-18, has always had a special place for Winnipeg. He stepped down from the Jets in December 2021 but left behind a legacy of 600 games coached and 315 wins.

Despite his new home in Florida, Maurice’s connection to Winnipeg remains strong, with his daughter still living here and countless cherished memories.

Let’s rally behind our Jets and make Maurice’s wish come true. Go Jets Go!

Got Foundation Problems? Call Ian at Ground Down Foundation Repair!

With all the rain we've been getting lately, it's been a challenge keeping our basements dry. I recently faced this issue myself. One morning, I walked down to my basement only to find water seeping in through a crack in the foundation. Panic set in as I imagined the potential damage and the long wait times for repairs.

That’s when I called Ian, he took the time to understand the problem and explained exactly what needed to be done. In less than a week, my basement was dry again, and the crack was expertly sealed. If I had gone with another service, I would’ve been waiting for months!

So if you’re experiencing any foundation issues or want to take preventative measures like installing a sump pump, Ian is your guy. I personally recommend his services!

To get in touch with Ian, call 204-290-2234 and let him know we sent you for the best price. Don’t let the rain catch you off guard!

As reported by the Winnipeg Sun, Winnipeg resident Elaine Corpuz is celebrating a major lottery win, having scored $1 million on a Western Max ticket. Elaine was in disbelief when she checked her ticket online, thinking she was dreaming.

The win is bittersweet as it brought back memories of playing the lottery with her late mother. With her winnings, Elaine plans to visit her family in the Philippines, a trip she hasn't made since her mother's passing. Congratulations, Elaine!

City Unveils Extreme Heat Plan

As reported by the Winnipeg Sun, the City of Winnipeg has rolled out its Summer Weather Response Plan to combat the rising temperatures and ensure everyone's safety, especially those experiencing homelessness.

The plan includes setting up cooling stations across the city, providing water, and deploying pop-up cooling tents during heat waves. Emergency shelters and community organizations are collaborating to offer these critical services. With hotter summers becoming the norm, this plan is essential to protect our community. Stay cool and hydrated, Winnipeg!
