Over 1,100 Hail Claims After Storm

Big hail storm news, Winnipeg! Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) has already received over 1,100 claims after last week’s hail storm. Residents are rushing to repair their homes and vehicles.

The storm hit the western and southern parts of the city hardest, with some areas getting large toonie-sized hail. “We had the city split in two with these storms,” said Natalie Hasell from Environment Canada. While some areas only got light rain, others faced severe hail and even flooding.

Homeowners are now dealing with the fallout. James Moore from 431 Roofing explained that hail can damage shingles, leading to leaks over time. “Every roofing company is going to be busy this summer,” he said.

If you’ve got damage, call MPI quickly and find a reliable repair shop. Stay safe and let’s get through this, Winnipeg!
