Jets Say Farewell to Coach Rick Bowness

Oh, Winnipeg. It's a bittersweet day for us. Our coach, Rick Bowness, has decided to retire after coaching hockey for 38 years. He's been with many teams and has coached a lot of games—more than anyone else in NHL history!

Rick has helped our Jets win a lot and taught our players so much, both on and off the ice. Even though he didn't win the big championship, he's made a huge impact.

He shared a lot of memories and said that the Jets and hockey have meant everything to him. We'll miss him a lot, but we're thankful for all he's done.

Let's keep our spirits up and get ready to cheer on our Jets next season.

Weather for the Weekend:

Rec Campus In, Happyland Pool Out

We’ve got some news on our city’s recreation spots! Our community services committee just made a big decision. They agreed to borrow $23 million more to build the South Winnipeg Recreation Campus. This place is going to be huge with gyms, a track, and lots of room to play!

But, it wasn’t all good news. Despite a big effort from folks in St. Boniface, the Happyland outdoor pool won’t be opening this summer. They raised $75,000 to try and save it, but it wasn’t enough. They needed $190,000 to keep it going just for this season.

It's tough to see Happyland pool go, but we’re excited to see the new rec campus come to life. It's going to be a great spot for all of us to enjoy!
