How to Watch the Solar Eclipse Today?

Big sky event today – a solar eclipse. Remember how your mom said never to look directly at the sun? Still true. But today the moon's gonna slide right in front of the sun, giving us a partial blackout.

Total eclipse? Not for us in Winnipeg, but it's still gonna be cool. Starts at 12:54 p.m., peaks at 2:01 p.m., and wraps up by 3:08 p.m. Don't miss it!

Looking to not fry your eyes? Grab those eclipse glasses that say “ISO 12312-2” on them. No, your trendy sunglasses won’t cut it. And don't even think about using your phone or binoculars without the right filters.

Can't find those special glasses? Try Showcase in Polo Park or maybe St. Vital Centre. If you're outta luck, DIY a pinhole camera or catch a livestream online.

Wanna join a party? Head to The Leaf in Assiniboine Park from 12:30 p.m. on Monday. They've got special gear to watch safely.

Incident at Burger King Shocks Winnipeg

Last Tuesday morning, right in the hustle of Winnipeg on Osborne Street, some dude gets slashed with a knife at Burger King. Yeah, broad daylight, people around, the whole deal. It's the kind of thing that makes you go, "What the heck is happening?"

Now, the cops are on a manhunt for the guy who did it, who apparently knows the dude he attacked. They're telling everyone to chill, that we're safe. Meanwhile, the guy who got hurt? He's out of the woods, stable now after a scary start.

Because of this mess, Burger King had to shut down the sit-down eating. They're looking out for their crew, giving them some support through this.

Now, with all this going down, people are getting jittery about safety at their favorite restaurants. It's not just a one-off; it's becoming a bit of a trend, and that's not cool.
