Source: MissingkidsALERT
As you know, we try to keep Winnipeg Digest full of uplifting local stories. But sometimes something serious happens that we can’t ignore. This is one of those moments.
A Winnipeg family is waiting and hoping for their daughter to come home, and our community can help.
Chloe Nelson, 16, was last seen on July 30 in the 200 block of Boyd Avenue. She hasn’t been heard from since. Her loved ones, and police, are deeply worried for her safety.
What we know so far:
Chloe is 5’6” with a medium build
She has black hair and brown eyes
Chloe was last seen July 30, 2025, on Boyd Avenue in Winnipeg
Anyone with info should call WPS Missing Persons at 204-986-6250 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477
If you’ve seen Chloe or know anything that could help bring her home, please speak up. Even the smallest piece of information could make all the difference.

A Reminder Why We Need “Why That Fast?” Signs

Source: Winnipeg Police Service
On Monday, Winnipeg Police clocked a large pickup truck flying down Inkster at 121 km/h in a 70 zone, swerving through traffic like safety was optional. It wasn’t.
The driver is now facing a hefty fine, careless driving charges, and a date with MPI before they can get back behind the wheel.
It’s a perfect example of why the city’s “Why That Fast?” signs exist. You’ve probably seen them staked in front yards across Winnipeg. They’re not just lawn décor, they’re a reminder that speed can be the difference between a safe drive and a tragedy.
Why the signs matter:
The faster you drive, the harder it is to stop when something unexpected happens
Even a small increase in speed can turn a near miss into a life-changing collision
Signs are free for homeowners and can be reused every year
They’re part of a city-wide effort to keep residential streets safer for everyone
Slowing down costs you nothing, but it could mean everything to someone else’s family. Those extra seconds are worth it, every single time.
