Winnipeg Launches a New All-In-One Portal for City Services

Source: City of Winnipeg

Winnipeg just launched a new online portal on Monday that brings all the essential city services into one place.

It’s called MyAccount, and it’s meant to make dealing with the City simpler and easier to manage.

Instead of jumping between different pages or trying to remember where to submit something, you can now sign in once and see information that actually applies to your home and neighbourhood.

After creating an account and adding your address, MyAccount shows details tied to where you live and lets you take action without jumping around the City website.

Here’s what MyAccount helps with:

  • See info tied to your address, like garbage and recycling days

  • Get seasonal updates, including snow clearing zones, parking bans, and insect control

  • Submit service requests online using 60 common request forms

  • And track the status of requests you’ve already submitted

If you already use MyUtility, you can link it to MyAccount and access both with one login. The City says this is just the first phase, with more services being added over time.

This update makes finding and tracking information a lot more straightforward. So if you haven’t already, click the link below to create your account and try out the new portal.

Looking for a Different Kind of Galentine’s Plan?

If dinner reservations feel a little overdone this year, here’s a date idea that’s creative, calm, and actually memorable.

Lilax Studio offers private sewing workshops and small group classes that are perfect for Galentine’s with friends, or a one-on-one session with someone you love.

It’s hands-on, low pressure, and built for beginners, even if you’ve never touched a sewing machine before.

Here’s how it works:

  • Private or semi-private workshops, great for friends or couples

  • Small group setting, so you get lots of guidance

  • All supplies included, with machines provided

  • A calm, welcoming space where you can relax, chat, and pick up a new skill while making something handmade

Some of their popular workshops include:

  • The Lanyard Workshop

  • The Pillowcase Workshop

  • And several other beginner-friendly classes

If you’re looking for a Galentine’s plan that feels thoughtful, creative, and a little different this year, this is a really lovely way to do it.

City Awards $2.5M to Local Nonprofit Groups

The City of Winnipeg has just awarded $2.5 million in funding to 60 local non-profit organizations through its new Community and Neighbourhood Grant Program.

These are the groups quietly doing the work that holds communities together: supporting neighbours in need, creating safer spaces, running programs for all ages, and helping make Winnipeg a more caring place to live.

This year, the City received more than $15 million in funding requests, which shows just how much support is needed across the city. A significant portion of the funding is going toward organizations focused on community well-being and essential support.

Here are some of the areas being supported:

  • Community organizations helping people experiencing homelessness

  • Recreation programs that build connection and access

  • Arts and culture groups that bring people together

  • Environmental and green city initiatives

This is the first round of funding under a new streamlined grant system, with applications expected to reopen in summer 2026.

Mötley Crüe to Headline Rockin’ Thunder in Winnipeg This Summer

Source: Blue Bombers

Another major summer concert has just been confirmed, and this one’s for the rock fans.

Mötley Crüe is officially headlining Rockin’ Thunder at Princess Auto Stadium on Saturday, July 4, marking the band’s 45th anniversary with a full stadium show in Winnipeg.

This is the newly announced piece of the Thunder Stadium Concert Series, and it brings a big, loud night of rock to the city. The lineup also includes Three Days Grace, Halestorm, and JJ Wilde, making it a stacked Saturday night from start to finish.

Rockin’ Thunder is part of a larger live music weekend at Princess Auto Stadium, following Country Thunder the night before.

Here’s how the weekend shapes up:

  • Country Thunder on Friday, July 3, headlined by Kane Brown and Bailey Zimmerman

  • Rockin’ Thunder on Saturday, July 4, headlined by Mötley Crüe

  • Both shows take place at Princess Auto Stadium

Tickets for Country Thunder are already on sale, while Rockin’ Thunder tickets go on sale February 6th.

If summer nights at a stadium concert sound like your kind of plan, this is one to mark down early. Tickets are expected to move quickly, so click the link below to learn more about the full weekend, ticket details, and what to expect!

A $1M Winning Lotto Ticket Was Sold in Winnipeg

This is your reminder to double-check that stack of tickets on the counter.

Someone in Winnipeg bought a winning LOTTO 6/49 ticket worth $1 million, and as of now, no one has come forward to claim it. The winning ticket was purchased in the city for the Saturday, January 31 draw.

The guaranteed prize number to look for is 30247034-02. Only an exact match qualifies, so it’s worth taking a careful look.

The lottery corporation is encouraging anyone who bought a ticket for that draw to check their numbers. Winners have up to one year to claim the prize, but you can’t win if you don’t check.

So if you or someone you know grabbed a ticket that weekend, now’s the time to pull it out and have a look.

City Updates

Winnipeg Improves Snow Clearing Map With Faster Updates

Source: City of Winnipeg

The City of Winnipeg has improved its online snow clearing map, making it easier to see whether sidewalks, pathways, and bike routes have been cleared before heading out.

The map now shows progress in near real time using technology built into sidewalk clearing equipment. Before this, updates were added manually and often only reflected work done at the end of a long clearing shift.

This change means more accurate, up-to-date information for people moving around the city after a snowfall.

Here’s what’s new with the map:

  • Sidewalks, pathways, and bike routes update automatically every 15 minutes

  • Routes marked in blue mean crews are still actively clearing

  • Filters let you check progress for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists

The City is also reminding residents to check the map before reporting a missed clearing, since crews may still be working in the area.

So if you’re heading out and want to check what’s been cleared, be sure to click the link below.

PS: You might want to save the link above for later. It’s especially handy to have bookmarked once the next snowfall hits.
