Winnipeg To Host The Juno Awards In 2027

Source: Juno Awards
The Juno Awards are officially returning to Winnipeg in 2027, bringing one of Canada’s biggest music events back to the city for the first time in over a decade.
The last time Winnipeg hosted the Junos was in 2014, and the event is once again expected to bring a full week of concerts, celebrations, and industry events to the city.
Here’s what we know so far:
Juno Week runs April 1 to 4, 2027, with concerts, industry events, and live performances happening across the city
The main awards show will take place at Canada Life Centre, featuring some of Canada’s biggest music stars
The event is expected to bring artists, industry leaders, and music fans from across the country to Winnipeg
Winnipeg has long played an important role in Canada’s music story, with artists like Neil Young, Chantal Kreviazuk, Begonia, William Prince, and The Weakerthans all tied to the province’s music roots.
Hosting the Junos again is a chance to celebrate that talent while welcoming visitors from across Canada and showcasing the very best of our city on a national stage.
P.S. Share this with friends or family who love music so they can start planning their Juno Week ahead of time!

A message from Canlan Sports!

Hockey Development Camps to Keep Kids Active This Spring Break
Spring Break is coming…
And suddenly, parents are asking the same question.
What are the kids going to do all week?
Too much screen time.
Too much sitting around.
A lot of “I’m bored.”
You want them active, moving, and doing something they actually enjoy.
That’s where Canlan Sports comes in. They’re running Spring Break hockey camps right here in Winnipeg.
Kids spend the day on the ice and on the soccer field learning new skills, playing games, and hanging out with other kids who love sports just as much as they do.
It’s structured, but still fun.
Here’s what the camp focuses on:
Skating, puck control, and gameplay skills
Play-based drills that keep kids engaged
Coaches who build confidence and teamwork
A fun environment where kids can make friends
The goal is simple: help kids stay active and develop while having a fun week.
Canlan Sports offers Full-Day Camps (with hot lunch), Half-Day Camps, and 1-Hour clinics so families can find the perfect fit for their 6-16 year olds’ Spring Break schedule.
If your child loves sports, this is the way to spend Spring Break.

City Updates
Winnipeg Invites Residents To Attend New Info Sessions And Community Open House

Winnipeggers will soon have new opportunities to learn more about public transit and the future of a local green space.
This spring, Winnipeg Transit is launching weekly “Let’s Talk, Transit” information sessions designed to help riders better understand how the bus system works and how to plan their trips.
The lunch-hour sessions will be led by transit travel trainers and will each focus on a different topic.
Here are some of the first sessions planned:
Navigating Our Transit System - March 17 (12–1 p.m.), covering routes, fares, and trip planning tools
Transit Plus - March 24 (12–1 p.m.), including eligibility and how to apply
On-Request Transit - March 31 (12–1 p.m.), explaining how the service works and where it’s available
These sessions are designed to make it easier for residents to understand the transit system, ask questions, and learn how to get the most out of Winnipeg Transit.
Meanwhile, residents are also invited to an open house about the future of Lemay Forest in St. Norbert, where the province is exploring plans to create a provincial park.
Here’s what to know:
The open house will take place on March 19 at the St. Norbert Community Centre (3450 Pembina Hwy.)
Residents can choose to attend between 3–5 p.m. or 6–8 p.m.
The discussion will focus on the proposed provincial park for the 22.5-acre Lemay Forest site
The open house will give residents a chance to learn more about the proposed park and share their thoughts as planning continues.
Together, these sessions are great opportunities for residents to learn more, share their input, and help shape future plans for the city.
Manitoba Invests $2.7M To Expand Advanced Spine Surgery At Concordia Hospital
A $2.7 million investment in advanced surgical technology is helping expand spine surgery at Concordia Hospital.
The new equipment uses advanced 3D imaging and precision guidance, allowing surgeons to perform minimally invasive spine procedures with greater accuracy.
As a result, more Manitobans will be able to access spine surgery sooner, while many patients can also experience shorter recovery times.
And because the procedures are less invasive, most patients are able to return home the same day or the following day.
Here’s what the expansion means:
Concordia Hospital is now considered a spine centre of excellence
Surgeons from across Canada and around the world are coming to Winnipeg to train using the technology
Expanding the procedure beyond Health Sciences Centre increases surgical capacity and helps reduce wait times
So far, 42 of these surgeries have been performed at Concordia, with a goal of completing about 75 each year.
