What's Happening in Winnipeg?

Former Winnipegger Breaks Guinness World Record

Chris Tymofichuk, a former Winnipegger, is on an epic quest to break a Guinness World Record by visiting all nine CFL stadiums in the shortest amount of time!

Starting at Princess Auto Stadium, he’s been racing through the country and has unofficially smashed the record. Now, we're waiting for Guinness to confirm. But along the way, Chris has raised an impressive $21,000 for CFLFansFightCancer. Battling traffic and tight schedules, he’s shown incredible dedication.

Let’s give a big cheer for Chris and his amazing journey!

Help Save Canada’s Oldest Steam Train!

As reported by The Canadian Press, Steam Locomotive No. 3, built in 1882, needs some serious repairs. This historic train, known for its coal-fired charm, needs $150,000 in repairs. Volunteers from the Vintage Locomotive Society are on a mission to keep it running.

They’ve set up a GoFundMe page to help raise the needed funds. If you love trains and history, this is your chance to keep a piece of the past alive. All aboard for a good cause!

Reviving a Historic Winnipeg Church

As reported by CTV News, St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church is getting a new lease on life thanks to Winnipeg Jets owner Mark Chipman and the Juno-winning folk duo, The Brothers Landreth.

They’ve transformed this beautiful, century-old church into a vibrant creative hub while keeping it open for worship. It’s now a buzzing space for music and community activities. This collaboration is breathing new energy into a beloved local landmark. So be sure to swing by and see the magic happening at St. Michael’s!

Mobile Health Clinic Hits the Streets!

A new mobile health clinic is here to support homeless and at-risk Manitobans. Operated by the Aboriginal Health and Wellness Centre, this clinic on wheels is offering essential health services right where they’re needed most.

With a team of doctors, nurses, and support workers, the van will visit various locations to provide care and connect people with long-term support. This initiative is a huge step towards better health for everyone in our community. So keep an eye out for the mobile clinic and spread the word!
